PUTRAJAYA: Political leaders have pledged to support and uphold the decree of the Conference of Rulers that the crisis involving the Negri Sembilan throne should not be politicised but resolved through legitimate legal channels.
They also urged all parties to respect the Royal Institution and allow the relevant authorities to address the dispute in accordance with the Negri Sembilan Constitution.
Amanah deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa said he fully supported the statement by the Malay Rulers, which reminded all parties not to interfere in Negri Sembilan's affairs or politicise the issue.
He said the Royal Institution must be respected, while all matters concerning it should be handled in accordance with established procedures, laws and systems.
"I support it 100 per cent. From the very beginning, we have expressed this view, guided by the wisdom of Their Royal Highnesses, that palace affairs should not be politicised.
"(This) is a reminder to Malaysians that we must respect the Royal Institution, including the procedures, laws and systems that we are required to respect and abide by," he said when contacted.

On Wednesday, the Malay Rulers warned against outside interference and attempts to politicise the Negri Sembilan royal crisis.
They said the issue must not be exploited for political gain, to garner public support or to expand influence in pursuit of power.
"Contradictory and irresponsible statements will only exacerbate the situation, heighten tensions, confuse the public and tarnish the dignity of the royal institution," the Rulers said in a statement issued by Keeper of the Rulers' Seal Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad in accordance with their royal decree.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the crisis should be left to the relevant authorities to resolve through legitimate legal channels.
He said all parties should allow the legitimate legal and customary, or adat, mechanisms to determine the best resolution in accordance with the provisions and procedures stipulated in the state constitution.
Umno Youth deputy chief Mohd Hairi Mad Shah also expressed his full support for the Rulers' decree, saying the Royal Institution must not be undermined or politicised by any party.
He said the institution of the Malay Rulers is a cornerstone of the Federal Constitution, a source of protection for all citizens and a symbol of the nation's sovereignty that must be safeguarded collectively.
Hairi said all parties must give the relevant stakeholders and authorities the space and time needed to resolve the dispute in an orderly and responsible manner.
He also reminded the public not to speculate or spread unverified information, as doing so could exacerbate the situation and undermine social harmony.
"Umno Youth fully respects all decrees and decisions of the Conference of Rulers. The Malay Rulers' call for all parties to prioritise wisdom, patience and respect for the protocols, customs and dignity of the Royal Institution is particularly timely," he said.
