XRPL Gets Privy to Stripe’s Wallet Tech
The collaboration, announced Tuesday by Privy, will allow developers to create and manage XRPL wallets programmatically, sign transactions, and build applications using XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, and other digital assets supported by the network.
The integration is designed to simplify wallet management for fintech companies and payment providers, allowing them to embed cryptocurrency functionality directly into their products without requiring customers to manage private keys.
A central focus is agentic commerce, an emerging category of financial activity in which autonomous AI agents can initiate payments and conduct transactions on behalf of users.
Privy’s server-side wallet infrastructure will enable AI agents to hold and transfer digital assets, including through the x402 payment protocol, which supports automated payments between software applications and online services.
“Privy brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products, from payments and stablecoin experiences to emerging forms of agentic commerce,” said Markus Infanger, senior vice president of RippleX at Ripple, in a statement.
The companies highlighted XRPL’s established payments infrastructure, including fast settlement speeds, low transaction costs and support for tokenized real-world assets. According to Privy, the blockchain has accumulated more than 8 million funded accounts and processed over $1 trillion in value during its 14-year history.
Developers will also be able to offer users wallet ownership and portability through private key and seed phrase exports. Privy said it plans to expand the integration with additional capabilities, including transaction policy controls and gas sponsorship, which would give developers greater oversight of automated transactions while reducing complexity for end users.
“Stablecoins are changing how money moves, and XRPL has been building for payments from the start,” said Privy co-founder and CEO Henri Stern, in a statement. “We’re excited to make Privy wallets available to developers building on XRPL, from global payments to agentic commerce, and whatever comes next.”
