Garrett Wilson's competitive fire is one of his defining traits, but the New York Jets wide receiver is also mindful of how his frustrations affect the team. Offensive coordinator Frank Reich recently praised Wilson's professionalism and intensity, offering an encouraging perspective on a player who wants to make a bigger impact without becoming a distraction.
Reich appreciates Wilson's feistiness. He made it clear that Wilson's approach is valued within the organization, particularly as the Jets continue searching for consistency on offense.
"Garrett is the ultimate team player and ultimate pro. ... He sets the tone in so many ways. We love that feistiness," Reich said.

That praise comes after Wilson voiced frustration following New York's 26-19 loss to the New England Patriots. Wilson was disappointed that he couldn't do more to help the offense, particularly after receiving limited opportunities for much of the game.
"It's just frustrating because we lost and I want to help the team. I'm going to watch this film and see how I can get more separation or just find a way, get on the right page with G, and find a way to make defenses pay for the looks that we've been getting because it's there. We've just got to execute."

Wilson has also discussed the importance of being productive without becoming disruptive, underscoring his effort to balance individual ambitions with the team's needs.

That balance matters for a receiver who wants to be a central part of the offense. Reich's comments suggest Wilson's competitive nature is viewed as an asset, and the next step is turning that intensity into more consistent production as the Jets work to improve.
