The Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the flag-off of All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential campaign and the deputy governor of Kaduna state, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, has said Kaduna is set to receive President Bola Tinubu on Saturday October 24, 2026.
Dr Balarabe disclosed this to journalists after, she and members of her team inspected facilities at the Kaduna Township Stadium, the venue of the flag off, on Wednesday evening.
‘’I’m comfortable with what has been done so far; we have the holding area, the conveniences are ready, the pavilions are ready. What remains is the markings for the different states,’’ she added.
The deputy governor said the LOC has deliberated extensively about security before, during and after the presidential rally, with seasoned security professionals at both state and federal levels.
Dr Balarabe said people will be screened before gaining access into the stadium, and she assured everyone of their safety in the arena.
According to her, the LOC envisages a large turnout of party members and supporters from across the country because the North West is an APC stronghold.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki disclosed that mobilisation is still ongoing, adding that hotels and service apartments have been fully booked within Kaduna metropolis.
The Commissioner said Kaduna state is privileged and honoured to host the flag-off of the presidential campaign and its citizens are eager to welcome President Tinubu.
Maiyaki pointed out that hosting the maiden campaign rally in Kaduna is an opportunity for the people of the state to demonstrate their support for the president and APC.
He said that in the last three and half years, Kaduna State has benefitted from the APC-led administration in terms of projects and appointment of its citizens at the federal level.
He listed the conversion of Federal College of Education Zaria to a university, the recent conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic to a Federal University of Technology and the 122km Mando-Birnin Gwari road and proposed Kaduna Light Rail Project.
