Last week, MAC announced its newest campaign, MAC Frost, highlighting 10 new frosty lipsticks and three old favorites that were brought back (Chintz, Spanish Fly, and Jet). In fact, the campaign was fronted by Parsons herself.
This is easily the most comprehensive frost lineup we’ve seen in well over a decade, with pinks, neutrals, reds, browns, and tons of cool-toned funky shades. My current favorite, TV Gold, a gray with brown undertones, is also loved by Anderson. “It’s one I like to layer on top of lipsticks to create a cooler frost version of my current faves,” he says. “It also looks great on its own paired with a gray lip liner, like Stone, or a brown pencil, like MAC Chestnut.”
Many of the shades MAC brought back were actually the ones that Parsons and Harper combed through eBay to order. Chintz, for example, is a brown with warm frost that’s perfect for deep skin (and I’ve already worn it a few times). But Parsons loves Jet. “That was the one shade I couldn’t dupe or recreate,” she says. “It’s a blackened silver with almost a slight purplish undertone—from what I’ve seen, it looks great on every skin tone.”
L’Oréal “Ballerina Shoes” went viral at the end of 2025 and quickly sold out all over the U.S. It wasn’t a new shade by any means, but it was a new discovery, especially for those who hadn’t worn frosted lipsticks in the early aughts. Actually, let’s be real: Many of the TikTokers posting about Ballerina Shoes weren’t even alive when the trend initially began. But the soft, frosty light-pink lipstick has a soft pearl that glides on lips. And I love the scent—it’s a classic, powdery lipstick scent that just reminds me of my youth.

Revlon never got rid of a lot of its frosted lipsticks, including this famed light-peach with gold shimmer. I’ve been a fan of the Super Lustrous Lipstick since high school, and it still holds up as one of the best at the drugstore today.

Parsons highlights Mob Beauty as a favorite indie brand making frost lipsticks, and I have to agree. These are ultra-shimmery and come in a good range of vintage-inspired hues. I’m partial to Frostbite, a silver that immediately makes your makeup look cooler (both literally and figuratively).
