Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An Uzbekistan Research Centre has been established in Hangzhou, China, to conduct academic research into the country’s reforms and their outcomes.
The centre was opened during the ninth international symposium on the socio-economic development of Central Asia, the Development Strategy Centre said.
The Development Strategy Centre provided the new research institution with books and analytical publications on reforms in Uzbekistan.
At the symposium, Eldor Tulyakov, executive director of the Development Strategy Centre, delivered a presentation on digital government reforms in Uzbekistan and prospects for cooperation with China.
According to Tulyakov, the number of public services available on the my.gov.uz portal increased from 525 in 2024 to 905 as of August 2026. Uzbekistan ranked 63rd in the United Nations’ 2024 E-Government Development Index.
By 2030, Uzbekistan aims to make more than 90% of public services available online and rank among the world’s 30 leading countries in e-government development.
The presentation also outlined proposals for joint digital initiatives between Uzbekistan and China. These included integrated public services, document exchange under the “Digital Silk Road” framework and specialist training.
