A delegation from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has visited the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) to learn about Ghana’s experience in crude oil refining as Uganda advances plans to establish its own refinery.
The delegation, accompanied by officials from the Petroleum Commission (PC), visited TOR on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, as part of an information exchange programme in Ghana.
TOR’s Managing Director, Edmond Kombat, and Deputy Managing Director, Alhaji Mustapha Batalima Abubakar, welcomed the team and shared insights into the refinery’s operations and business.
During the visit, TOR’s technical team briefed the delegation on the refining process, explaining how crude oil is processed into finished petroleum products.
The session provided an opportunity for the visitors to gain a better understanding of the technical stages involved in refining, particularly the processing of local crude oil.
The head of the delegation, Arthur Musinguci, said the visit would help the team deepen its understanding of the refining process as Uganda progresses with its refinery development plans.
He said the delegation was keen to learn from TOR’s operational experience.
