A burglar in the US left staff at a technology company amused and bewildered after breaking into their office and walking away with empty cardboard boxes
The burglar completely overlooked thousands of dollars' worth of computer hardware sitting right in front of him.
The incident occurred at a technology firm in Tempe, Arizona, where the intruder targeted what he believed was a stash of Apple Mac Mini desktop computers.
These compact workstations typically retail for between USD900 (RM3,673) and USD1,900 (RM7,754) each, making them a typically lucrative target for thieves.

However, security camera footage showed the burglar ignoring the devices and grabbing empty cardboard boxes instead
Company employee Curran Rose recounted the bizarre break-in after reviewing the office CCTV footage, noting that the equipment remained
untouched on the desks.
"Just empty boxes. Our computers were right there in front of them. They just stole the boxes instead. Really low IQ," Rose said.
"They stole empty boxes. Everyone was laughing about it. I'm just glad no one was hurt."
While staff members found humour in the perpetrator's error, the break-in has left management shaken
The company is actively working with local law enforcement to determine how the intruder breached the premises and to establish the precise sequence of events.
To assist police with their ongoing investigation, the firm has announced a USD1,500 (RM6,122) reward for any information that directly leads to the suspect's identification and arrest. Authorities in Tempe have asked residents and business owners to remain vigilant and report any relevant information or surveillance footage.
