Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, as the best suited candidate for the position for being well groomed for the job.
According to a statement signed by the party publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, he noted the party’s candidate went through the political tutelage, right from when he was a teenager, and he rose through the political ladder to get to where was presently.
The State NPS said Hazmat had a better credentials compared to other candidates jostling for the position.
“I wish to declare that Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat represents a compelling combination of intellectual depth, administrative competence, political maturity and progressive conviction that Lagos needs as it prepares for its next chapter of development.”
APC stated that despite the crowded political environment by noise merchants, professional critics and merchants of empty promises, Hamzat stood out as a man whose credentials were rooted in professional preparation, practical governance experience and a demonstrable understanding of the complexities of public administration.
The party noted that its candidate’s professional and political credentials deserved serious consideration.
“His service as Commissioner for Science and Technology, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, and Deputy Governor has given him extensive exposure to the realities of government, from technological innovation and infrastructure delivery to executive coordination and policy implementation.”
The party noted that Lagos State cannot afford to gamble with its future or turn the leadership of its complex economy into an experiment in political wishful thinking.
“The stakes are too high, the challenges too demanding and the aspirations of its people too important.”
It noted that Hamzat understood the environment in which the responsibilities must be discharged.
“His background combines technical training with practical exposure to the machinery of government, giving him an appreciation of the difference between announcing an idea and implementing it.
