Adidas Originals is back at it again with Edison Chen and his Clot label for its latest footwear and apparel collaboration.
For this release, the duo has teamed up to update the German athletic brand’s Superstar sneaker into two distinct models. The first Adidas Originals x Clot Superstar style is made in an all-over blue hairy suede. A second mule style transforms the signature silhouette into a slip-on made in a camel color hairy suede upper with army green leather detailing. Both silhouettes feature the collaboration’s signature sawtooth sole and tassel details on the laces.
As for the apparel, Chen and Adidas will launch a matching cargo jacket and short set featuring military-inspired details, and a vintage-inspired hockey jersey referencing Chen’s Vancouver roots. A reimagined track pant with braided rope accents and a padded reversible utility tote are also included in the range.
Alongside the collection, the pair continue their anime-inspired campaign with South Korean musical group Lngshot. Members Ohyul, Ryul, Woojin, and Louis are depicted by longtime Clot collaborator and artist Annie Choi, joining Chen and previous campaign stars including Anthony Edwards, Raphinha and Luis Díaz.
The Adidas Originals x Clot Superstar collection, which retails between $125 and $200, will be available globally beginning Oct. 16 via the Confirmed app, Adidas.com and select retailers worldwide.
This latest tie-up featuring the Superstar follows the July release of another color of the Clot Superstar by Edison Chen in white, brown and orange, with a campaign featuring Adidas athlete and professional NBA star Anthony Edwards.
Earlier this year, the duo was back with a collection in honor of Lunar New Year. At the heart of the collection was the Clot Superstar Dress Shoe, a premium reinterpretation of an Adidas Originals silhouette. The release also included the Clot Qi Flow, which was inspired by the movement of kung fu. The model featured a nylon upper, satin collar, pearl and frog-button closures and an espadrille-inspired outsole.
