Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has urged political appointees and public office holders from the state to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The governor also charged federal and state appointees to strengthen political coordination and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential campaign flag-off scheduled for October 24 in Kaduna.
Mr Sani gave the charge at a high-level strategic meeting attended by political appointees and other stakeholders from the state.
He said Mr Tinubu had demonstrated commitment to Kaduna State through investments in infrastructure, education and economic development, adding that the state’s political leaders should work towards securing his re-election.
“President Tinubu has demonstrated an unprecedented commitment to Kaduna State through transformative investments in infrastructure, education and economic development.
“Such extraordinary commitment deserves more than expressions of gratitude; it demands collective responsibility to consolidate these gains and sustain the momentum of development,” he said.
The governor urged federal appointees and other stakeholders to close ranks and intensify grassroots engagement to ensure the president’s victory in the 2027 election.
“We must translate our appreciation into decisive political action. I charge every federal appointee and stakeholder to close ranks, deepen grassroots engagement and work towards delivering a resounding landslide victory for President Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
Mr Sani cited projects including the Kaduna Light Rail, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road and Kaduna-Kano Rail Project, as well as investments in federal tertiary institutions, as evidence of the president’s commitment to the state.
He said closer collaboration between federal appointees and the state government was necessary to translate the investments into economic opportunities, improved security and better living conditions for residents.
The meeting was attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko; chairmen and members of federal boards; heads of parastatals; federal commissioners; and other stakeholders.
The participants resolved to work with the APC leadership and other stakeholders to strengthen and coordinate the party’s political structures across Kaduna State’s 23 local government areas.
They also commended Mr Tinubu for choosing Kaduna as the venue for the flag-off of his re-election campaign, describing the decision as recognition of the state’s strategic political importance.
The participants further expressed appreciation for federal infrastructure investments in the state and the appointment of Kaduna indigenes to strategic positions in the federal government.
They pledged to strengthen coordination among stakeholders before, during and after the elections, with emphasis on peaceful participation, effective engagement and post-election reconciliation.
The appointees also pledged to support the policies and programmes of Mr Tinubu and Mr Sani, saying they would use their positions to promote the delivery of democratic dividends to communities across the state.
They reaffirmed their commitment to political unity, stronger federal-state cooperation and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda and Kaduna State’s development priorities.
