James Blunt is returning to Portugal next summer, with the British singer-songwriter confirmed for the sixth edition of the Douro & Porto Wine Festival.
Blunt will perform on July 2, 2027 at the Cais Comercial de Cambres in Lamego, where the festival will once again bring together major concerts with the wines, gastronomy and spectacular scenery of the Douro.
The musician has sold more than 23 million albums worldwide during a career spanning over two decades and is best known for songs including “You’re Beautiful”, “Goodbye My Lover”, “1973” and “Same Mistake”.
Blunt’s appearance adds another major international name to a festival which has steadily grown its profile since launching in the heart of the Douro wine region.
Natalie Imbruglia has also been confirmed for the 2027 edition.
The festival itself will run over July 2 and 3, with the venue opening from 6pm each day.
As the event’s name suggests, music is only part of the attraction.
The Douro & Porto Wine Festival is built around the region’s wine and food culture, with its Wine Village bringing together producers and estates from the Douro Demarcated Region, while its gastronomic offering features dishes and experiences created by invited chefs.
Last year’s edition attracted over 13,500 visitors and featured 31 wine producers alongside performances from artists including Ronan Keating, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Aurea, Lena d’Água, Olavo Bilac and Quinta do Bill.
Organisers are also retaining the festival lounge close to the main stage and private boxes aimed particularly at companies and groups, while promising further additions to the 2027 experience.
Tickets from €35
Early Bird tickets are already on sale.
A standard day ticket costs €35, while Premium admission costs €65. Two-day Early Bird passes cost €55 standard or €110 Premium. Children aged between six and 16 have reduced-price tickets, while younger children can enter free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.
The Lamego concert will mark Blunt’s first performance in Portugal in almost 13 years. His last appearance in the country was at Lisbon’s Coliseu dos Recreios in November 2014, during his Moon Landing World Tour. A planned 2020 concert had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
