The Administrative Review Tribunal has named four non-judicial deputy presidents.
The Commonwealth government has appointed four senior leaders to the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART).
The ART replaced the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in 2024 as the primary body for reviewing government decisions. Since then, a lack of skilled staff has hampered the tribunal’s ability to manage a rapidly growing number of appeals.
The appointment of Phillip French, Alison Murphy, Robert Olding, and Paul Vermeesch as non-judicial deputy presidents brings the total number of senior staff to 13.
Attorney-General Michelle Rowland said the additional capacity will help ART manage its caseload.
