The Detroit Lions are set to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 6, and it is a very important game for them to win.
The Lions are currently tied with both the Packers and the Chicago Bears in the NFC North. Thus, it would be clutch for the Lions if they picked up a victory against Green Bay.
Now, as the Lions prepare for their game against the Packers, they have added a new veteran return man to their depth.
According to The Ringer's Tom Pelissero, the Lions have signed veteran wide receiver and return man DeAndre Carter to their practice squad.

With Carter having a good amount of NFL experience, there is no harm in the Lions signing him to their practice squad. Now, he will be aiming to impress on Detroit's practice squad in hopes of being elevated to their active roster soon.
Carter played in four games last season with the Cleveland Browns. This was after he played in 13 games with the Bears in 2025, where he recorded nine receptions and 72 receiving yards.
In 111 career NFL games, Carter has recorded six receiving touchdowns, 117 receptions, and 1,331 receiving yards. He has also 1,508 yards on 155 career punt returns and 3,339 yards on 144 kickoff returns.
