Liev Schreiber was filmed swearing at and berating a reporter at the red carpet premiere of his new Apple TV+ series Nocturne.
The journalist, who herself was working for Apple, appeared to have just asked Schreiber a question that failed to win his approval.
He snapped at her: 'Talk to people like you value what they do. It's not a f***ing sound bite, especially when we're doing this in house for our own people.'
The 59-year-old continued: 'We're trying to make the show compelling, so engage with the person like they're an artist or they're an actor.'
Apparently in reference to the reporter's question, he fumed: 'Three words. Three words, like... three words isn't gonna do anything for anybody. A monkey could've f***ing thought of that. It's shooting themselves in the foot.'
The reporter then turned to camera and joked: 'I hope you're rolling on this,' earning a laugh from Schreiber that seemed to somewhat dissipate the tension.

In a calmer tone of voice, Schreiber said: 'If you wanna give them something that they can use, talk to people like they're humans, not like it's social media.'
After their initially fraught exchange, Schreiber and the Apple journalist were apparently able to carry on a cordial conversation about Nocturne.
The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Schreiber for comment.
Nocturne is based on two novels called Lazarus and The Sandman by Lars Kepler, the pen name of a married couple called Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho.
Schreiber stars as a homicide detective called Jonah who gives up the danger of Philadelphia for the tranquility of the Western Pennsylvania countryside.
However his plans to lead a safer existence are thrown into disarray when his town becomes the quarry of a Jurek Walter, a serial killer played by Stephen Graham.
Zazie Beetz features on the show as Saga, an FBI special agent who regards Jonah as a father figure and who is assigned the Jurek Walter case.
The cast of Nocturne includes Rory Kulkin, a brother of Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin and Succession breakout Kieran Culkin.
This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz is also feature, as is character actor Bill Camp, whose resume includes Lincoln, The Night Of, The Leftovers and Sound of Freedom.
Created by Rowan Jaffe - the son of English stage actress Jane Lapotaire and The Mission director Roland Jaffe - Nocturne will air its first two episodes October 30.
