Matin Spinning Mills has recommended a record 55% dividend for the 2025-26 fiscal year, its highest payout since listing on the stock exchanges, after posting 35% profit growth.
The dividend comprises 45% cash and 10% stock, compared with a 35% cash dividend in the previous fiscal year.
The apparel manufacturer, listed in 2014, reported revenue of Tk904 crore, up 3.35% year-on-year, marking its highest level in recent years, according to company data. Its profit rose 35% to Tk61.97 crore, with earnings per share (EPS) reaching Tk6.36.
Following the annual corporate announcement today (19 October), the company's shares rose 5.10%, or Tk3.80, to Tk78.30 each.
The increase in share price lifted Matin Spinning Mills' market capitalisation by Tk37.05 crore to Tk763 crore, according to Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) data.
Explaining its performance, the company said revenue increased due to higher sales volumes and prices, while EPS grew on the back of higher sales prices and revenue. It reported no other significant extraordinary transactions during the year.
The company said the stock dividend would help finance ongoing capacity expansion, including the modernisation of production through an auto-blending system in the blow room.
Net operating cash flow per share fell 54.53% to Tk5.31, mainly due to lower operating cash flows, higher receivables amid increased sales, a rise in unrealised letter-of-credit receivables and higher supplier payments than in the previous year, the company said.
The annual general meeting is scheduled for 10 December through a digital platform, while 12 November has been set as the record date for determining shareholders eligible for the dividend.
Approves Tk9.60 crore machinery purchase
Matin Spinning Mills has approved the proposed purchase of capital machinery, mainly from Switzerland, at an estimated cost of Tk9.60 crore.
The procurement aims to modernise production through auto-blending in the blow room, boosting productivity and operational efficiency, the company said.
The estimated cost, including commercial, installation, construction, accessories and other related expenses, will be financed through the issuance of bonus shares.
Following installation and commissioning, the company expects the machinery to improve productivity and operational efficiency, generating an additional profit of around Tk3.50 crore annually.
