Manchester City return to Premier League action today when they take on Aston Villa at Villa Park today. Enzo Maresca’s side come into today’s match after wins against Ipswich Town and AEK Athens. City comfortably dispatched AEK Athens 5-1 on Tuesday night and they will enter today’s match full of confidence. However, City will face a tough opponent today in Aston Villa. City haven’t won in their past four matches at Villa Park. Their last win at the venue came in December 2021. They have since lost three games and drawn one against Unai Emery’s side at the venue.
Also, Manchester City enter today’s match sitting top of the Premier League after winning their opening seven matches of the season. Aston Villa are 12th but will pose a significant test for Enzo Maresca’s side today. Unai Emery is rebuilding his team after losing a host of key players during the summer and they have shown signs of life recently.
