Ash emission was observed on Kanlaon Volcano early Monday, October 12, 2026, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
"The event generated a plume that rose 300 meters above the summit crater before drifting northwest, as visually recorded by the Canlaon City Observation Station (KVO-CC) Thermal IPCamera," said PHIVOLCS.
There were three ash emission events recorded by PHIVOLCS on Sunday, while a moderately explosive eruption at Kanlaon Volcano on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at around 12:46 p.m.
Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Kanlaon Volcano. — BAP, GMA News
