The sting operations that originated from the KPCC office have now been shifted to the Vidhana Soudha, BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra said in Hubballi on Sunday.
He told reporters that the issue can lead to a massive political upheaval in the State in the coming days.
“There are some Congress leaders who are creating all these fake videos to implicate their political rivals, insult them publicly and remove them from positions of power. But these leaders have now shifted to the Vidhana Soudha and are continuing to run their conspiracies from the seat of power,” he said.
He was in Hubballi to campaign at the BVB College for party candidate S.V. Sankanur in the upcoming Legislative Council elections for the West Graduates Constituency.
Mr. Vijayendra said that he has received inside information that there is dissidence brewing against Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar among the Congress leaders.
“Some senior leaders are preparing actively to overthrow Mr. Shivakumar. Other leaders are already holding high-level meetings to orchestrate his unseating. It seems almost certain that Mr. Shivakumar will have to exit soon,” Mr. Vijayendra said.
Mr. Vijayendra said that the political fallout of these internal factions and secret parleys will become evident immediately after the Legislative Council elections.
Responding to allegations by some Congress leaders that the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) scam is a creation of the previous BJP government, Mr. Vijayendra challenged the Chief Minister to order a comprehensive inquiry into the matter.
“The State government should disband the current set-up and implement genuine reforms if it trulys care about transparency. I want to ask them why key officials have been transferred despite court directions. Instead, the Chief Minister should take strict action against anyone found guilty of the scam,” he said.
“During his recent visit to New Delhi, Mr. Shivakumar failed to achieve anything productive and instead, brought embarrassment to himself and the State,” he said.
Mr. Shivakumar is an inefficient administrator. He is driving Karnataka into a debt trap. The State is staring at ₹4.5 lakh crore in debts. But it has no money in its treasury. It is failing to pay government employees or implement social welfare schemes properly, he said.
Mr. Vijayendra criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accusing him of suffering from frustration following electoral defeats.
“The Congress is funding organizations like Cockroach Janta Party to create chaos and anarchy across the nation, thereby eroding public trust in Constitutional agencies,” he said.
The Congress is trying to orchestrate disruptions and attempting a “regime change” out of desperation to counter the nation-wide popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is leading the country to economic progress.
Mr. Vijayendra urged all voters to cast their first preference votes in favour of Mr. Sankanur when polling is held on October 23. He said that as a two-term MLC, Mr. Sankanur has raised important issues in the Legislature.
Rajya Sabha member M. Nagaraj , MLA Mahesh Tenginkai and others were present.
