The bond between Laduma Ngxokolo and Madumanne is built on viewing pets as family.
“Madumanne is much more than a pet, he is family,” Laduma shares. “He has been a constant companion, bringing joy, comfort, and a unique energy into our home.”
A bond built on the everyday
This special bond with his dog provides a necessary counterweight to a demanding career. “An ordinary day with Madumanne is usually about slowing down,” Laduma reflects. “Whether we’re playing or simply spending time together, he brings out a much more relaxed and playful side of me. He has a way of taking me out of work mode and reminding me to enjoy the present moment.”
For Laduma, this connection highlights how pets and personal identity overlap. Caring for another living creature requires genuine commitment, bringing the principle of responsible pet ownership to the forefront.

Madumanne has a unique character that makes him impossible not to love. He’s loyal, affectionate, and always brings a sense of happiness wherever he goes,” says Laduma.
“Being a pet parent has shown me that self-expression extends beyond ourselves. The way we care for our pets, include them in our lives, and celebrate them says a lot about who we are. Madumanne has taught me that love, care, and companionship are also forms of expression.”
