GEORGE TOWN: All educational institutions in Penang will operate as usual tomorrow, although outdoor activities will be suspended due to the haze.
The Penang Education Department said all Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at monitoring stations across the state were below 150 as of 2pm today.
In a statement, the department said it remained concerned about the safety and health of students amid the haze affecting the country.
"Students attending school are encouraged to wear face masks as a precautionary measure.
"Parents and guardians who are concerned about their children's health may opt to keep them at home, provided they inform the school administration," it said.
The department said it would continue to monitor air quality, adding that the safety, health and well-being of students and education personnel remained a priority.
