For the cover of the October 19, 2026, issue, the artist Malika Favre captures the transition of our wardrobes at the first chill of fall. Drawing inspiration from Hausa architecture and the vibrant fashion scenes of Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa, she brought an African sensibility to a seasonal ritual. “The bold geometry, architectural patterns, and glorious use of color found their way into my brain, and into this image,” Favre said. “Fashion can be an antidote for the gloomy winter days to come.”
