By Breaking Belize News Staff: Pastor Kevin Tzib, founder of Dunamis Ministries in San Ignacio, was released from the Belize Central Prison on Friday, October 23, 2026, just one day after being remanded on seven sexual offence charges.
Breaking Belize News has independently confirmed that Tzib was granted bail and released from prison at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
The development comes after the 33-year-old pastor appeared before the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where he was arraigned on six counts of sexual assault and one count of unnatural crime. The prosecution objected to bail, and the magistrate ordered that he be remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
However, Tzib reportedly secured his release following a successful bail application before the High Court on Friday.
Earlier Friday evening, Breaking Belize News obtained exclusive footage reportedly recorded around 5:05 p.m., appearing to show Tzib leaving the San Ignacio Police Station. BBN subsequently published the footage while seeking independent confirmation of reports that he had been released.
Police confirmed during Thursday’s press briefing that the charges stem from complaints made by four males concerning alleged incidents spanning more than five years, between February 2021 and July 2026.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith, Staff Officer of the Belize Police Department, confirmed that Tzib pleaded not guilty to all seven charges. His next scheduled court appearance is January 21, 2027.
The amount of bail granted, the conditions imposed, and the identity of the High Court judge who approved his release have not yet been confirmed.
Dunamis Ministries previously issued a statement indicating that it would take appropriate administrative measures while respecting the judicial process and the presumption of innocence.
Tzib’s release on bail does not affect the criminal charges against him, which remain before the courts.
