A temporary locker room at Centennial Ice Rink, which is managed by the Nashville Predators, has been criticized for potential privacy concerns.
The locker room, labeled "Locker Room 9" and located near Rink A of the facility, is a makeshift space that once housed Perani's, a hockey pro shop. With Centennial undergoing renovations amid the Predators' capital investment in the ice facilities, space is limited, requiring some temporary changing areas for players.
But according to a recent social media post, the space may not provide adequate privacy for players inside.
"There's holes in the makeshift blackout curtain made out of plastic tablecloth," Maren Angus said in a video post on X while walking through the space. "And the (window) blinds don't even... what are they even doing? If you change, everyone can see..."

This ain’t it, @PredsNHL. The women’s league refused to change in here and we asked for a different locker room. pic.twitter.com/Bs6s1hzDOh
The video shows several holes in the blackout curtain on the rink side of the room. The external wall shows blinds covering the windows, but the blinds do not appear to provide complete cover. Both issues potentially expose players inside to passersby in the rink or anyone standing in the main lobby of the facility.
Angus, who plays on a team in the women's league, said her team requested a different locker room due to the lack of privacy.
The locker room, which was used by both adult and youth players for recreational and scholastic leagues, has been "taken offline" as a locker room, according to Bill Wickett, Chief Marketing Officer for the Predators.
"We are aware of the locker room assignment made yesterday at Centennial Sportsplex and fully agree that the condition of the room was unacceptable for its assigned use," Wickett said. "It has been taken offline as a locker room; we apologize to any teams that were assigned to use this room in connection with preparation for practices or games. We are also undertaking a review of the processes and protocols that inform room assignments at Centennial in order to ensure that this does not happen again.
"We look forward to completing all of the renovations at Centennial, which will enable us to consistently provide each of the user groups with the first-class facilities that they expect and deserve," Wickett said.
The temporary locker room space was a result of construction elsewhere in the rink. The Predators are upgrading their team facilities and locker rooms, a project which began this summer, but this has closed some spaces that might otherwise be available. For example, the NYHL's Nashville Flyers locker room on the far side of the rink is temporarily not in use due to the construction.
