'The Capital Of This Country Is Under Siege By Its Own Government': Renuka Chowdhury
Speaking on News Track, Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury criticized the government and the Election Commission over voting rights and election procedures following protests and petitions filed in the Supreme Court. Addressing the controversy surrounding voter revision and Form 6 discrepancies, Chowdhury asserted that the public's right to vote had been compromised and argued that merely revising rules cannot undo disenfranchisement. She emphasized, "We are going to do our best, and we will fight 'til the last, 'til we get our, what we have to." Questioned about comments directed at the Chief Justice of India, she stated that the party respects the Chief Justice while stressing the necessity of preserving public trust in an independent judiciary. Furthermore, Chowdhury alleged that the central authorities had disregarded judicial directions regarding protest areas and demonstrations, claiming that the capital of the country had been placed under siege by its own government.
