Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call to discuss regional developments.
Araghchi wrote in a post on Telegram late Sunday, October 18, that he had discussed regional issues with his Egyptian counterpart.
He said the talks focused on diplomatic efforts and initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and maintaining regional stability.
Araghchi also said he had discussed regional issues with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The discussions come as the conflict between the United States and Iran in recent months has heightened regional tensions.
However, diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, have so far failed to produce tangible results.
