DAEJEON — The Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency is running a writing program called "My Own Writing" for city residents across eight sessions from the 12th through Nov. 4.
The course is open to 10 to 15 residents interested in writing autobiographies, essays or prose, and will be held at the book cafe, a shared space at the Daejeon Social Economy Innovation Town.
The program is structured in stages, beginning with a single word and a one-line sentence and moving on to speaking, describing with the five senses, memory mapping, drafting, revising, and producing a video letter to complete a finished work. Participants will use generative artificial intelligence, AI voice transcription, spell-check and editing software, and video production tools so that even beginners can easily put their own experiences and daily lives into writing.
In the final session, participants will read their completed works aloud, screen their video letters and make covers and postcards. For those who wish to take part, the agency also plans to publish an anthology containing the finished pieces along with QR codes linking to the video letters.
"I hope residents will record and share the stories of their lives and daily routines, and experience the joy of writing," said Choi Jae-geun, president of the Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency.
