Police Commemoration Day was observed in Tiruchi and other districts in the Central Zone on Wednesday. Homage was paid to police and paramilitary personnel who laid down their lives while on duty across the country during the period September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026.
In Tiruchi, V. Balakrishnan, Inspector-General of Police, Central Zone; N. Kamini, Commissioner of Police, Tiruchi and senior police officials laid a wreath at the memorial at the District Armed Reserve ground here.
The names of the police and paramilitary personnel who were killed or met with unnatural death from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026 were read on the occasion, said police sources.
