Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver DeVonta Smith was originally reported as a non-participant during the team's latest practice with the hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined for the past two games.
However, the Eagles revealed that wasn't necessarily the case with their latest injury report.
According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Smith was upgraded to limited participant on Thursday and there is still optimism he will play in Week 6.
If the Eagles could get Smith back for this week's matchup against the Carolina Panthers, it would certainly be some much-needed reinforcements.
Philadelphia will already be without quarterback Jalen Hurts (blood clot), and running back Saquon Barkley will likely join him in due time as he continues to battle his way through a hamstring injury as well.
The Eagles have been relying on wide receivers Darius Cooper, Dontayvion Wicks and Makai Lemon with Smith out, and it is safe to say they would welcome him back with open arms after he began the season with 19 catches for 235 yards and one touchdown.

However, that also begs the question of whether it would be worth it to risk Smith re-injurying himself if the offense is going to be without a couple of its top players.
The Eagles still have a few days to make that decision, though. Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Panthers will kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
