By Zoila Palma: Belize participated in the Central America Travel Market (CATM) 2026, held from October 19 to 21 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, with a delegation of 20 Belizean hoteliers and tour operators.
The participation provided an opportunity to promote Belize’s tourism offerings and strengthen relationships with regional and international travel industry partners.
CATM is a major tourism trade marketplace in Central America, bringing together tourism businesses, international buyers, tour operators and travel media. The event aims to strengthen commercial partnerships, showcase the region’s diverse tourism experiences and create new business opportunities in international markets.
During the event, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) held a productive meeting with Ventur, a travel trade partner with whom it has previously collaborated on cooperative marketing initiatives.
The BTB also met with TAG Airlines at its offices in Guatemala City to explore further collaboration and strengthen regional tourism connectivity, potentially creating additional opportunities for travellers visiting Belize and other Central American destinations.
Belize’s participation concluded with “Unwind with Belize,” a rooftop reception celebrating the country’s vibrant culture and renowned hospitality.
Guests experienced Belizean-inspired cuisine, lively local music and colourful carnival performances, offering a taste of the country’s unique cultural identity.
