In addition to providing Framework systems to the CachyOS Linux distribution for optimizing the support, Framework Computers has also been providing monthly donations to the project. CachyOS confirmed today that Framework Computers has now tripled their monthly donations to this independent Linux distribution built atop Arch Linux.
The CachyOS team shared today via Reddit that Framework Computers is now committing ~$850 USD per month to the project up from its original $250 monthly donation. The funding will be used to help with build servers, mirroring, and other infrastructure needs as well as investing more time into performance optimizations and more.
Great to see Framework Computers ramping up their support for more Linux distributions, especially given the growing popularity of CachyOS for its out-of-the-box performance minded defaults and being quite popular among Linux gamers -- around 18% of Linux gaming systems as the top distribution measured in the latest Steam Survey.
