১৮/১০/২০২৬

Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): The Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU) of the NSCN (IM) has appealed to the Yimkhiung and Tikhir tribes to exercise restraint and resolve their differences peacefully amid a recent conflict between the two communities. In an appeal, the union urged both tribes to refrain from actions that could escalate tensions and disturb peace and harmony, stating that violence, retaliation and confrontation would deepen divisions and cause further suffering. It called on tribal leaders, elders, civil society organisations and responsible citizens to work collectively towards an immediate and peaceful resolution through dialogue, mutual respect and reconciliation.Emphasising the shared identity of the two tribes as part of the Naga family, the ENNWU said their common history, culture, traditions and aspirations should unite them rather than divide them. The union also urged the public to refrain from spreading rumours, misinformation and inflammatory statements that could aggravate tensions between the communities.Calling for brotherhood, unity, forgiveness and peaceful coexistence, the ENNWU said the preservation of peace was a collective responsibility and stressed the need to restore trust between the two tribes. It further urged all concerned to set aside differences and work towards lasting peace, noting that the consequences of conflict could affect future generations.
