Operational restrictions at Saudi Arabian airports have affected 103 direct and transit flights, disrupting travel plans for 15,779 passengers.
Of the affected flights, 42 were direct, and 61 were transit flights, according to ASM Flight Management today (15 October).
Among direct flights, Biman Bangladesh Airlines had the highest number of disruptions, with 17 flights affected, followed by US-Bangla Airlines with 10, Saudia Airlines with eight and Riyadh Air with seven.
Among transit flights, IndiGo recorded the highest number of affected flights at 22, followed by Emirates with 14, Qatar Airways with eight, SalamAir with seven, flydubai with six, Air India with three, and EgyptAir with one.
The restrictions have disrupted travel for passengers using Saudi airports for direct and connecting journeys. The disruption follows a series of attacks on Saudi airports over the weekend.
Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi group claimed responsibility for Saturday's strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which killed 13 people and injured more than 300, according to media reports.
Saudi authorities reported a further attack on Riyadh airport on Sunday, when an unidentified projectile struck Terminal 4, causing a fire and injuring 11 people. The Saudi-led coalition also said its air defences intercepted a cruise missile near the airport.
