Week 8 of the 2026 college football season has concluded for Southeastern Conference schools.
No. 11 Tennessee (6-2, 3-2 SEC) played its second league road game on Saturday. The Vols were defeated by South Carolina (4-3, 2-3 SEC), 27-24, at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
"Give credit, South Carolina made plays down the the stretch that, you know, put them in position to to win the football game," Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said. "You know, for us, guys competed hard. We didn't play smart enough, offensively, penalties just crushed us, and you let a good football team hang around on the road. It's got a chance to bite you in. It sure did at the end."
