Uzbekistan has collected UZS 3 trillion (over $250mn) in alimony payments for the support of minor children so far in 2026, according to Farrux Toshpo‘latov, head of the press service of the Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement. The figures were announced during a briefing on the bureau's enforcement activities, including alimony collection, employment assistance, public appeals and debt recovery.
According to the Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement, the amount collected through enforcement documents related to alimony increased by UZS 954bn (around $80mn), or 31%, compared with the same period last year. Additionally, 565 citizens received financial assistance from the Alimony Payments Fund to support their minor children.
As part of enforcement proceedings related to alimony payments, permanent employment was secured for 21,028 individuals who previously did not have a permanent job. The bureau also reported that outreach and preventive measures contributed to the reconciliation of more than 21,200 families.
During the reporting period, 49,611 appeals concerning alimony collection were submitted to the President's Virtual Reception and the People's Receptions. Of these, 32,598 appeals have been resolved. Compared with the corresponding period last year, the number of appeals related to alimony collection decreased by 7,526.
Appeals concerning the recovery of debts and damages also declined, falling by 3,507 compared with the same period in 2025. Beyond alimony payments, the Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement reported collecting UZS 54.8 trillion (over $4.5bn) across 5.9mn enforcement documents during the reporting period.
This represents an increase of UZS 14.4 trillion (over $1.2bn) compared with the corresponding period last year. The collected funds were distributed among three categories of recipients:
UZS 36.7 trillion (over $3bn) was directed to the state.
UZS 16.5 trillion (over $1.3bn) was transferred to business entities and other organizations.
UZS 1.6 trillion (over $133mn) was collected for individual citizens.
These figures cover the bureau's enforcement activities across different categories of financial obligations. During the reporting period, 508 citizens who had been unlawfully dismissed were reinstated in their jobs. In addition, UZS 21.6bn (over $1,8mn) in unpaid wages was recovered for these employees.
Previously, Uzbekistan introduced legislative amendments simplifying the procedure for collecting certain categories of debt. Under the amendments, a simplified enforcement procedure applies to utility service payments and mandatory contributions from owners of units in multi-apartment buildings. The procedure also covers debts that do not exceed five times the Base Calculation Amount (BCA).
