Bayern Munich head coach, Vincent Kompany, has been rushed to hospital after the Belgian collapsed at the club's training ground on Friday.
According to the club, the former Manchester City defender will remain under medical care while he undergoes examination.
The forty-year-old manager collapsed while watching the reserve team's training session at Säbener Straße, at the end of the first team's practice.
According to Bild, an emergency doctor team accompanied him to a Munich medical facility via ambulance while a rescue helicopter was dispatched to the location, and the reserve team's training was called off.
Bayern's official statement said, "Vincent Kompany required immediate medical intervention after collapsing during a reserve team training session.” The head coach of the senior squad had been supervising the second team's practice.
"Kompany is presently undergoing comprehensive medical evaluation at the hospital and will remain under continuous medical supervision. His coaching staff will temporarily oversee all training and competitive operations."
Bild reported that his medical condition remained stable. Bayern have not disclosed a specific diagnosis or anticipated return date, or any additional medical information.
Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl, added, "Vincent Kompany's wellbeing represents our foremost concern. Bayern will make every effort to facilitate his complete recovery.
"Vinnie is receiving comprehensive medical care and assistance, and will be afforded whatever time is necessary. The entire FC Bayern organization extends its best wishes for Vinnie's prompt recovery."
Bayern, currently leading the Bundesliga standings, are scheduled to take on Freiburg in a league fixture on Sunday.
Assistant coaches Aaron Danks and Rene Maric are expected to handle the team during Kompany's absence.
