Kim Kardashian has gone viral this Halloween season after ditching the usual spooky getup for something far more personal, dressing up as her own daughter. The reality star and billionaire entrepreneur debuted the look on Instagram, and the internet has not stopped talking since.
The costume was a near-perfect recreation of North West's current aesthetic. At 13, North has carved out a bold, alternative look of her own, drawing inspiration from virtual pop idol Hatsune Miku. Kim leaned fully into it, rocking bright turquoise-blue hair, temporary facial studs, black grills and dramatically elongated chrome nails to complete the tribute.
Kim's costume timing was no accident
The look landed just days after North took to a joint livestream to clap back at online critics who had labelled her fashion choices "demonic." By stepping out in her daughter's exact style, Kim made a very public statement of support without saying a word about the backlash directly. It read as a mother's way of standing beside her child in the most Kim Kardashian way possible.
Khloé Kardashian was quick to react, dropping a playful "Twins!!!!!!!" in the comments. Several followers admitted they did a double-take, genuinely struggling to tell the two apart at first glance.
The internet is divided
Not everyone was charmed by the transformation. While some fans called it the sweetest form of mum-and-daughter bonding, others felt Kim may have overstepped.
@carolineeightythree weighed in:
"The daughter seems to have chosen this look to differentiate from her mother. For Kim to then do this seems like she is missing the point and not letting her have her own identity. Let her do her own thing without claiming it too."
@pauladamen admitted:
"Honestly, is this just weird for me?"
@elisechristine12 kept it blunt:
"This is so unsettling."
@naksky19 gushed:
"Beautiful mom. ❤️❤️❤️"
@leia_loww summed it up in one word:
"ICONIC."
@youngameerkhan added a humorous twist:
"It's cute tho, stylist definitely ate. But the knees gave it away immediately. 😭 I mean, that could be one way to get your kids to stop doing what you want them to stop. Imagine North dress up as Ray J. 🤣"
@gorretkisa brought the comedy:
"Ye won't like this. 😂😂😂"
@mlandry1116 posed a more philosophical question:
"Does Kim know who Kim is?"
@ramirez.laurie connected some dots:
"Yet she called Kanye all kinds of names for his creativity... 🤦🤦"
Bonang Matheba worked with Kim Kardashian’s stylist
A throwback photo of Bonang Matheba styled by Law Roach in 2016 resurfaced on X, reigniting talk about the media personality's fashion credentials.
The post went viral after Law Roach was announced as Kim Kardashian's new stylist, with fans insisting Bonang was ahead of her time.
