VESSL AI, a neocloud company, unveiled a plan to reach 2 trillion won ($1.4 billion) in revenue by 2028. The strategy calls for building out clusters based on Nvidia's next-generation artificial intelligence chip, Vera Rubin, in the first half of next year to strengthen its position as a global neocloud provider.
VESSL AI laid out the business plan at a neocloud strategy briefing held in Seoul's Gangnam district on the 15th. "Silicon Valley companies in the U.S. are also choosing VESSL AI's platform to run AI inference by operating graphics processing units stably and efficiently," CEO Ahn Jae-man said. "After posting 250 billion won in revenue this year, we will grow to more than 2 trillion won the year after next."
Neocloud refers to services that specialize in supplying and operating GPU infrastructure for training and running AI models. VESSL AI has differentiated technology in reliably linking GPU infrastructure scattered across multiple companies and data centers and allocating those resources to match customer demand.
The revenue target carries through to the company's GPU expansion plans. VESSL AI currently has access to about 7,000 GPUs secured through partner companies. It plans to begin buying GPUs directly next year and to expand its total to 200,000 units by 2030. By 2028, it will also build AI data centers at eight sites across the country with a combined capacity of 50 megawatts.
The Vera Rubin-based cluster, slated for the first half of next year, is one of the main businesses expected to support the company's growth. To that end, VESSL AI is pursuing 400 billion won in GPU financing together with Nvidia and global investment banks in the U.S. and Singapore. If the plan proceeds as intended, the capital spending required through 2028 is estimated at a total of 5 trillion to 10 trillion won.
VESSL AI is moving aggressively because demand for AI inference has surged with the spread of agentic AI, rapidly increasing the number of companies seeking to use GPUs. The company is targeting 50,000 GPUs next year, and it has already confirmed customer demand for 30,000 of them. Of that demand, 70% to 80% came from overseas companies.
"Demand is so strong that GPUs sell out entirely within one to two weeks of being secured," Ahn said. "VESSL AI stands apart in understanding customers' AI workloads, designing the infrastructure and providing the software alongside it."
