Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs continues to further his reputation as one of the most electrifying players in the NFL.
In Sunday's dominant Week 5 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Gibbs rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. He also reeled in five catches for 56 yards as a dangerous receiver out of the backfield.
Through the first five games of his 2026 campaign, Gibbs has 504 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns to go along with 243 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Gibbs' Week 5 performance earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors, which the NFL announced on Wednesday.
"He's him," the Lions wrote in response to this news.
“He's unbelievable, he really is,” Lions quarterback Jared Goff said of Gibbs postgame. “We did a good job in the run game and still probably didn't do as well as we could. He made a lot of guys miss in the backfield and got a lot after the first touch. Gosh, he's electric.”

The Lions are entering their Week 6 bye with a 3-2 record. They'll return to the field for a Week 7 matchup against the division-rival Green Bay Packers.
