The incident occurred in Dinh Van Lam Ha Commune at around 4:30 pm, shortly after Le Van Minh, 44, brought the two newly purchased buffaloes to the area by truck.
As Minh was unloading the animals, the mother buffalo suddenly attacked him, fracturing his pelvis and leg, causing multiple injuries, and knocking him unconscious.
The two buffaloes then ran onto the road and charged at pedestrians and motorcyclists along a roughly one-kilometer stretch through Tan Lap Hamlet, injuring five more people.
One of the victims, Mai Thi Tam, said she and her husband were riding a motorbike along the roadside when a buffalo suddenly rushed toward them.
Her husband swerved to avoid the animal, but the motorbike toppled, leaving the couple trapped against a nearby house's metal gate.
Tam was gored in the neck and other parts of her body. Her husband then drew the buffalo's attention toward himself to protect her.
The animals also stormed into a roadside wedding party, overturning banquet tables and smashing dishes.
Guests managed to flee, and no one at the wedding was injured.
A motorbike and a car parked along the road were also damaged.
The buffaloes eventually entered a building materials storage yard in Tan Lap Hamlet, where residents quickly shut the gates to contain them.

Local authorities dispatched police and military personnel to secure the area.
By 7:20 pm, authorities, working with the yard owner, managed to restrain both animals using an excavator.
Minh, who sustained serious injuries, was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment, while the five other victims were taken to the Lam Ha Regional Medical Center for emergency care.
