Over a thousand people gathered at the Alliance Française in Accra on Friday, October 16, 2026, for Bel-Aqua’s Healing Together Vigil 4.0, an evening combining mental health conversations with live music, comedy, and community connection.
Held under the theme “Every Mind Has a Story… Respond with Hope,” the fourth edition formed part of Bel-Aqua’s Take a Break initiative. It followed the Healing Together Walk on October 3, extending the campaign’s call for people to prioritize their mental well-being and support those around them. At the heart of the vigil was a message that went beyond simply encouraging people to speak about their struggles: the response they receive matters just as much.
The campaign emphasized listening without judgment and approaching difficult conversations with empathy, care, and hope. Guests were welcomed into an experience zone featuring a Story Wall, hydration stations, and red-carpet interviews before Kwan Pa opened the stage program with a vibrant musical performance.

A mental health panel discussion, moderated by Yaa Bitha, brought together Fafa Gozo, founder of the Dzidula Pink Foundation; Dr. Seth Mawusi-Asafo, a clinical psychologist and lecturer; Dr. Masha Bashiru, a senior clinical and health psychologist; and Jahara Osman, founder of the Mental Health Forum.
The session blended professional expertise and advocacy perspectives, placing mental health dialogue right alongside entertainment. Host Lekzy DeComic guided proceedings with comedy interludes, while standout performances by Mr. Drew, Kojo Blak, and Efya added to the evening’s dynamic atmosphere.
The event also featured addresses by Christopher Addo-Sarkodie, Head of Marketing, and Oscar Adaadaare, Regional Sales Manager, both representing Bel-Aqua, as well as Dr. Vivian Aba Dadzie, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Mental Health Authority.

DJ Sleek led the after-party, giving guests an opportunity to unwind, network, and connect. The vigil complemented the campaign’s earlier walk from Ayi Mensah to Peduase, where activities included health screenings and direct access to psychologists and psychiatrists.
Together, the two events integrated mental well-being into community life, merging opportunities for connection with vital conversations about support.

Through its Take a Break initiative, Bel-Aqua continues to encourage the public to make room for mental self-care.
This year’s vigil successfully reinforced the campaign’s central appeal: beyond asking someone to share their story, be prepared to listen and respond with hope.
