A Zambian pilot has inspired social media users after flying herself and her friends to a resort in South Africa simply to enjoy lunch and a swim.

Namwezi documented the adventure in a travel vlog shared on Instagram on 11 October 2026. The video showed the group travelling from North West Province, where they had stopped for breakfast, to an airstrip near Zabula Golf Estate in Limpopo.
After landing, the group arranged transport to the resort, turning an ordinary weekend outing into a memorable aviation adventure.
The footage captured moments from the journey, including Namwezi using the aircraft’s systems during the flight and her friend Juliet taking the controls for one leg of the trip. The pilot also described the conditions as hot and turbulent.
Zambian pilot fulfils a dream at Zabula Golf Estate
Beyond the flight itself, the trip held special meaning for Namwezi.
She revealed that before becoming a pilot, she used to pray for the opportunity to visit Zabula Golf Estate. This time, she was able to fly herself there to enjoy a meal and spend time by the pool.
The resort also brought back memories of an earlier visit. Namwezi recalled a first date at the same venue when she mispronounced the word “daiquiri” in front of her partner and a waiter.
Looking back on the embarrassing moment, she said: “It's only embarrassing if you're embarrassed, and I wasn't.”
She also highlighted some of the resort’s attractions, including its menu, live entertainment and mischievous monkeys known for stealing drinks from unsuspecting visitors.
