On Tuesday, Inspired Capital announced the close of its $450 million Fund IV, bringing its total committed capital to more than $1.3 billion.
Founded by Alexa von Tobel and Penny Pritzker in 2019, the venture capital company invests in technology-driven companies across sectors including AI infrastructure, health care, defense, fintech, robotics, and consumer goods.
According to the company, 10 of Inspired’s investments have reached valuations of $1 billion or more. Von Tobel told Inc. that Inspired’s main ethos centers on “the founders going after the biggest and hardest problems facing humanity.”
“I wake up every day doing something that I believe in with every ounce of my soul that I would do for free, because I think being on the side of the exceptional human beings that want to make this world better and brighter for all of humanity is a pretty good way to spend our limited time on this earth,” she added.

“Our firm is about outperformance. That is a vital way that we think, which is showing up every day to help our founders have outperformance,” Von Tobel told Inc.
