Perth is shivering through some “cooler than usual” weather for this time of the year, but it hasn’t stopped keen members of the community from getting their morning exercise in.
The city is experiencing cooler temperatures than usual for October due to weak cold fronts from the South West coast as cooler winds blow in from the Southern Ocean, according to Bureau of Meteorology senior meteorologist Angeline Prasad.
You might have found yourself digging out a winter jacket on Saturday morning after Perth woke to a brisk 6.4C at 5.30am.
Cold temperatures continued to be recorded for most of the morning as it increased slightly to 7.9C at 6am and 9C at 6.30am.
Perth reached its maximum temperature of 18C at 12.30pm.

Residents can expect to rug up again on Sunday morning as a minimum of 7C is expected — Ms Prasad said it could dip to as low as 6C if cloud cover clears.
Ms Prasad said temperatures between 7 and 8C during October happen every few years, so waking up to sporadic chilly mornings is expected.
Earlier this month on October 2, it dipped to 7.8C.

The lowest minimum temperature recorded for October was 2.2 degrees on October 6, 1994 and on October 10, 2005, Perth shivered through a 2.5C minimum temperature.
However the city is in for an early summer treat next week with some hot and sunny weather.
The Bureau is forecasting between 27 and 29C on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the Perth Hills and inland suburbs potentially pushing to 30C.
