Heavy snowfall has disrupted road access to tourist destinations in Diamer, where temperatures have dropped below freezing and a cold wave has spread across the district.
Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat and Bhutogah Top have experienced intermittent snowfall, while rain in Chilas and surrounding areas has brought a further drop in temperatures.
Police said authorities temporarily closed the Babusar Highway after heavy snowfall made travel difficult. The Babusar-Naran Highway has been shut because of subzero temperatures and continuing snowfall at Babusar Top.
The closures could affect tourists heading to the region as well as commuters traveling through the affected routes.
The district administration and relevant departments have urged travelers to exercise caution in areas experiencing snowfall and cold weather. Officials have also advised people planning to travel along the Babusar Highway to check current traffic conditions and road-clearance updates before leaving.
