The filming of a crime drama is Liepāja this week is likely to cause some inconvenience to people in the city.
Due to the filming of the latest TV version of Steig Larsson's best-selling crime story "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" in Liepāja from October 19 to 22, there will be several traffic restrictions in various locations in the city.
They will affect the Oskars Kalpaks Bridge and its surroundings, Graudu and Pasta Streets, Veca Ostmale, Liepāja Port Promenade and Pulvera Street. In certain areas, vehicle traffic will be closed, pedestrian and cyclist movement will be limited, and public transport routes will be changed, all of which may be enough to make some residents consider how likely they would be to get away with the odd murder or two.

The katest drama is being produced by the company "Left Bank Pictures", known (it says here) for projects such as "The Crown" and "Dept Q".
Liepāja's council urges drivers, cyclists and pedestrians to plan their travel in advance, especially to and from Karosta, and to allow for possible additional travel time. Full details of the disruptions and what you're supposed to do about them can be found here.
"We thank you for your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience caused! Such projects not only contribute to local businesses, hotels, caterers, and the transportation industry, but also help bring Liepāja's name to the world, attracting future guests, investors, and new projects," said the council.
