Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber have expressed their heartbreak at the recent death of son Presley.
On September 20, the 27-year-old fashion model died of a suspected overdose after going into cardiac arrest.
This occurred at the Santa Monica facility Resolutions Living, where he had checked in the day before.
According to sources, Gerber had ‘got high’ on the Saturday beforehand, and became concerned that he was losing control.
He is then said to have been checked into Resolutions Living by his sober coach ahead of a planned rehab clinic stay. Sources also claim that Gerber continued to use drugs in the home prior to his death.
His parents, former supermodel Crawford, 60, and businessman Rande Gerber, 64, have now issued a joint statement via Instagram, describing the family as ‘heartbroken’ by their loss.
Sharing a black and white picture of her son, Crawford wrote: ‘Presley Walker Gerber July 2, 1999-September 20, 2026.
‘We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother.
‘We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever.
‘We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability.
‘We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain.
The statement finished: ‘Til we meet again our sweet boy. We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia.’
In addition to his mother and father, Gerber is survived by his 25-year-old sister, Kaia – also a model, like her famous mother and sister.
She too released her own statement, in the form of an Instagram post which consisted of a video montage of them as children and several slides of text.
‘I don’t have the words,’ she began, ‘and maybe the tiny mercy is that we didn’t need them all along.’
In the wake of Gerber’s death, tributes included words from friend Brooklyn Beckham, who wrote: ‘I am so heartbroken. Presley you were the kindest and we are going to miss you so much x we love you.’
Beckham’s wife, Nicola Peltz, also shared: ‘I am truly devastated. Presley was pure light in this world, he had the kindest heart. I feel so lucky to have had him in my life.’
She added: ‘I will never forget his kindness and how he always showed up for his friends. My deepest condolences go out to his family. We miss you and we love you so much Presley. We’re heartbroken.’
In an Instagram story, Paris Hilton penned: ‘I’m completely heartbroken. I still can’t believe this is real. Presley, you were such a beautiful soul. So sweet, sensitive, kind and genuine. I cared about you so much, and I’m going to miss you more than words can say.
‘You had such a gentle heart and there was something so special about you that anyone who was lucky enough to know you could feel.’
In the years prior to his death, Gerber had been open about his addiction struggles, using his social media to talk about mental health and his attempts to stay sober.
Earlier this year, Gerber shared that he would be undergoing a controversialtreatment at a facility in Mexico – a single, high-dose administration of the naturally occurring psychoactive substance ibogaine.
This so-called ‘flood dose’ is reported to help with withdrawal symptoms and reset brain pathways.
In the comments below Gerber’s post, Crawford described her son as a ‘warrior,’ adding that he’d ‘walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!’
His sister also commented: ‘That’s my brother I am so damn proud.’
She continued: ‘I’m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what’s hard takes real strength and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.’
