The ZASCOSA Alumni Association has fixed November 27 and 28, 2026, for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and dinner/award night.
The decision was reached at a joint meeting of the association’s National Executive Council (NEC) and Set Chairmen/Representatives held on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at the ZASCOSA National Secretariat, ZSCS, Bukuru, Plateau state.
A statement issued by the National Publicity and Information Officer, Mr Pam Danchal Toy, said the meeting was chaired by the National President, Esv. Dung Nehemiah Rwang, FNIVS, RSV, with members participating physically and virtually.
The statement said the Social, Entertainment and Reunion Committee had been mandated to finalise arrangements for the event, while the Publicity and Media Committee would determine the cost of programme production, advertisement slots and media coverage.
It added that all Set Chairmen and Representatives had been made automatic members of the welfare and health, membership database and records, and publicity and media committees to strengthen coordination ahead of the AGM and award night.
The meeting also resolved that all sets of the association must organise a reunion or meeting at least once a year to strengthen relationships among members and sustain the association’s activities at the set level.
According to the statement, the NEC will supervise compliance with the directive.
On the association’s ongoing projects, the meeting called on sets that made financial pledges towards the construction of a basketball court during the 2025 National Reunion to redeem their commitments to facilitate the completion of the project.
The statement disclosed that the flooring contract for the basketball court was awarded at ₦5.316 million, out of which ₦3.5 million had been paid, leaving an outstanding balance of ₦1.816 million.
It added that another ₦1 million was required for boards, nets, balls and other miscellaneous expenses, bringing the total amount needed to complete and commission the facility to ₦2.816 million.
The association appealed to members, sets and friends to support the project through donations, noting that contributions of any amount would be appreciated.
The meeting was also informed that the association’s secretariat, donated by the school management, had been fully renovated at a cost of ₦559,000.
The NEC expressed appreciation to members whose contributions facilitated the renovation.
On infrastructure challenges, the Project and Development Committee presented an estimate of ₦992,000 to address erosion at the school’s entrance gate. The statement said the proposed project had been noted for further consideration.
The NEC also reported that it had commenced courtesy visits to members, adding that some visits were still pending responses from the individuals concerned.
The National President thanked the Set Chairmen and Representatives for their commitment and urged them to mobilise members in their respective sets towards a successful AGM and the completion of ongoing projects.
The statement reaffirmed the association’s commitment to strengthening alumni relationships and advancing its development initiatives.
