Patrick Mahomes Has Message for Kenneth Walker Before His Seattle Homecoming

Kenneth Walker III helped the Seattle Seahawks secured a Super Bowl title this past season, earning MVP honors in the championship game.

However, the Seattle franchise ultimately let Walker leave in free agency — where he found a new home with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Walker has been stellar through his first five games with the Chiefs, leading the NFL with 665 rushing yards despite the team already having its bye. The reigning Super Bowl MVP also has six rushing touchdowns to go along with 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air.

This coming Sunday, Walker will return to Seattle for a matchup against his former team.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked about this homecoming for Walker when speaking to reporters on Wednesday.

"I know it's going to be a special moment for him," Mahomes said, via team insider Charles Goldman. "You get to go back to a place where you built your career and won a Super Bowl. At the end of the day, you've got to win a football game. He knows we've got his back."

Sunday's Chiefs-Seahawks matchup will kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET.
