Davide Frattesi will come up against Juventus this weekend knowing he could have been lining up for the Bianconeri, after turning them down in the summer to rejoin Lazio.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Juventus made an attempt to bring the midfielder to Turin during the transfer window. The former Inter man instead opted to return to the club where he grew up, taking on a bigger role at the Stadio Olimpico.
Frattesi chose Lazio over Juventus move
That decision gives Juventus-Lazio an extra edge for the 27-year-old, with both sides chasing places near the top of the Serie A table. Since his return, Frattesi has quickly become one of the key figures in the Biancocelesti midfield.
He also has a happy history against the Old Lady. As Il Messaggero recalls, Frattesi scored the opening goal of Sassuolo’s 2-1 win in Turin in October 2021, a strike he has since described as one of the most emotional of his career.

He will now be looking to hurt Juventus again, this time wearing the shirt of his boyhood club.
